Traveling for flute and alto flute, as the name suggests, it is a journey though four sound landscapes. In the first movement we can hear a distant place, a long time ago, somewhere in the middle ages when life was measured by horses galloping. Next, a dance based on the augmented fourth music interval, known as the “diabolus in musica”, it consists in an allusion to witch-hunt. The third movement, is calm with a cadential style, transporting us to the south of Spain and all its arabic influence. Finally, it is time to cross this big pond called Atlantic Ocean, and listen to rhythms inspired in the South American music.
NOTE: It is intended that the performers avoid to perfectly focus the sound, producing a characteristic harmonic shifting sound, imitating tradicional flutes, such as the overtone flute or the fujara.
