This work is based on traditional Portuguese themes from Alentejo, Trás-os-Montes, Beira Baixa, and Minho. It was originally written in 2015 for flute choir and was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Composition Contest for Flute Orchestra promoted by the Portuguese Flutists Association. In 2018, it was transcribed for this version with piano.
In the transcription, some keys were changed in order to better fit the new instrumentation.
